Mission Trip to Santiago

Hello Friends!

First off, I want to thank you for all of your support in prayers and finances. This trip would not be possible without you.

I can’t believe we’re leaving tomorrow!! We have been preparing for this trip for a year now, so it feels a little like Christmas. I wanted to let you know some specific prayer requests before I go. AND it turns out I will probably have nightly wifi access! So, I will try to post a (very short) daily update on our ministry and any further prayer requests. So be sure to check back!

I’ll tell you: the thing I am most excited for on this trip is the time we will be spending as a team. These kids are very special to me as I have seen many of them grow up over several years. We will get some processing time each night, and I will be praying for wisdom and discernment; for God to speak through me to these youth about this experience. Missions were an integral part of my faith journey, so I hope that this trip produces long-term effects not just for the church in Chile, but also in the hearts of the youth on our team (and us adults, too, of course!).

The following prayer guide was provided to me by our Project Director Stephanie French:

PARTNERS IN MISSION

Our team is heading to Santiago, Chile from June 19 through 29. We are partnering with IberoAmerican Ministries and local pastor German and his wife Carmen Gloria to serve the people in their growing church as well as help to build bridges to their community.

Please join our mission team in prayer as we conclude our preparations and travel to Chile to share the Good News we have in Christ.

By partnering in prayer, you can join the team it comes face to face with people who need compassion and hope. We will be ministering to people of all ages as we engage in various projects: painting a mural, training workshops for their children’s ministry volunteers, and story-rope workshop for women. In addition, our team will produce an evening VBS for the children with the purpose of introducing them to God’s love and forgiveness.

Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to pray at different times throughout the trip. Intercession prompted by the Holy Spirit is powerful, and God responds when his people ask. Feel free to use the general requests listed in this prayer guide as well as the specific daily prayer guide.
