Chile – Day One

Hurry up and wait, is what we did today.
Today was for travel, and the travel was long. A four-hour flight to Dallas, a three-hour layover, and then a nine-hour flight South to our destination. Praise God we made it safely, but we will need prayers for strength, as a nap is not in the schedule.

I love the view from the plane. It’s amazing how small life looks from 10,000 feet. I guess it reminds me how, even at the same time as the bigger picture makes the scurrying life below seem less significant, it is also stunning and beautiful in a way that does not happen up close. Maybe there is a glimmer of God’s view of us in there.

Can I be real with you guys for a minute? Even though we will be excited for our first day in Chile, with the general lack of quality sleep, we will need to be very vigilant against irritable attitudes and complaining words. Father, full our hearts with your Holy Spirit so that the outpouring of our mouths is a reflection of your character and not complaining.
